Piazza Gratissima: a site for community gathering
The needed $5,180 has been successfully raised and it is time to kickstart the process of building a Piazza in the courtyard of New York City Public Library, Mott Haven Branch! Piazza Gratissima will serve as a multi-use space for library goers and act as an avenue for civic discourse. Currently BroLab, the Bronx River Arts Center and the Mott Haven Library are working on the final design that is based on how the community wishes to utilize the space. Once the design is approved BroLab will hire local labor to build the Piazza alongside of them. Piazza Gratissima will be physically realized in the summer of 2012.
